Web poker has become world famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back in reality a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variations on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or different kinds of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the dealer broadcasting "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different players receive 5 cards each. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call wager or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your original wager, indicating that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your ante goes instantly to the house. After the bet is the conclusion. If the casino doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, plus an amount equal to the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the casino’s hand. The casino pony’s up money equal to your initial bet and fixed expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
