August 30th, 2024 at 15:25

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by many of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the adverse feedback from others destroy his dream of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

He began competing seriously after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved two final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to hard work and an undying passion for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every day and is quite abashed about his success. He admits to making blunders in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
