Web High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

June 11th, 2023 at 1:25

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the final poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus raked in a huge pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While betting on net poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. He frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very weak. He waits patiently for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I believe Gus is an excellent poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the min takes most of the ability out of big stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full dollar value. I think television can skew our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players anywhere in the world might be players you have never heard about. Gus can be seen participating in web poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in cash games?
