No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to pickup everything he could about the game. Phil would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil began competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and winning wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable passion for the game of poker. Phil states that he is learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. He admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and always strives to improve.

Although Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
