Online poker has become world celebrated lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino rather than each other. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No more bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers are given 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your wager goes immediately to the casino. After the wager is the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including a figure equal to the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays money even with your ante and controlled expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for two pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a four of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
