Terrible Luck in Poker

For a game where the majority of players rarely consider good luck, there are tons of superstitions in poker. When you say that someone was blessed in that poker tournament they won, be mindful of how you say it. For instance, if you mention that you were unlucky, your luck may never change.

Ok, that may appear to be a bit strange, but poker is a game armed with folklores. Did you realize that if you are wagering a game with two different decks and you’re asked to select the deck, you should always select the deck of cards that is furthest from you? Or, how about If you have a streak of terrible cards, you must hang out on a hankerchief to break your terrible luck? It’s actually considered good fortune to blow through a pack of cards when they’re being shuffled.

Some other interesting poker folklores are:

  • You might be able to change the run of cards by walking around your chair three times.
  • The luckiest spot at the poker table faces the entrance.
  • The most detrimental chair has its back to a fireplace.
  • When altering chairs, you should constantly do so following the clock.
  • The most detrimental poker card is the 4 of clubs.
  • It is very unfortunate to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
  • Monday is a poor day for wagering on cards.
  • The thirteenth is also a horrible day, regardless of when it falls.
