Poker has become globally celebrated as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several types on the first poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or different kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up just before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course every one of the other gamblers acquire 5 cards each. After you have observed your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you need to either make a call bet or accede. The call bet’s value is akin to your original ante, indicating that the risks will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantaneously to the house. After the bet is the conclusion. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with a figure in accordance with the initial bet. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays cash equal to your initial bet and set expectations on your call bet. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
